Updates: Relaxed Today and Did a Big Snip

I went to a new stylist today. I will definitely be going back to him. Unlike all the other stylists I go to he believes in healthy hair practices and really means it. He is okay with stretching. I was not double-booked. I didn't have to wait. He didn't mind telling me what products he was using. Not to mention he has an excellent personality and great prices. I was very pleased. He used alot of products that I already have and didn't mind telling me which products to go out and buy for home maintenance. I wouldn't mind getting my hair done by him at least 2-3 times during a 10-14wk relaxer cycle. I can go on all day. I was in and out WITH a relaxer in an hour and a half. A wonderful experience. I live in Southwest Fort Worth, it was about a 35 minute drive, but worth it.

I have some UPDATES:
1. My relaxer schedule and regimen are changing. A will no longer self-relax. I had a corrective relaxer today. My stylist used Mizani. Apparently it has a base in it so I didn't need to base my scalp and I didn't have any chemical burns whatsoever. I was thoroughly impressed. Mizani always processes too quickly on my hair, however this time was different.

My Regimen for this relaxer cycle(10-14wks)
Still moisture-packed but protein will be added every fourth wash and pre-/post-relaxer
Prepoo, Shampoo, DC-steam treatment(heating cap and towel turbie), Leave Ins, Serum
Rollerset and saran wrap
Will bun or do other protective styling(frenchbraid)after 3-4 days until next wash.
Flat iron, roots only prior to saran wrap in the later weeks of relaxer cycle
2.Length- H2T Length shirt(line 4)
I dropped down to SL and inch or so away from APL. It's cool. I planned this snip anyway, that's why I stretched and grew my hair out so that I would still have a easily manageable length. I got rid of alot of uneven length, I have lots of swang and I also gained the fullness that I lacked.

Experience during this 26 weeks stretch.
I enjoyed knowing that I can stretch that long. I really feel like I accomplished something. On the other hand, I realized that I do not have the patience to transition, or maybe just the mindset right now. I enjoyed seeing all of the new growth, but it required more time, more patience, a heck of alot more product. It was very time consuming. During the last 2 weeks, I had to mentally prepare myself to deal with my NG. I never figured out how to detangle b/c I feel like it takes too much time and it shouldn't be this difficult to style your hair. Not to mention my hubby sat me down and told me he was sick of the buns and was ready to see my hair again. I have no problem with that. I can keep my styling healthy and please my hubby. It can be done. He likes to play in my hair, I can dig it. No more long-term bunning. I know this will require me to be more diligent, that is fine. I am trimming my hair on a schedule to help with uneven length anyway so I will keep my ends pretty healthy. My last trim was Jan 09. I didn't have any split ends but they were very unven. Keep in mind when my hair was snipped with sew-in take down , my ends we also cut off.Anyway, I will also try to make my posts shorter from here on out.

Your hair came out great! I always swore I would never go back to a stylist for haircare but after seeing how pretty and shiny your hair came out, I should probably pay him a visit myself.

If you do, ChickVision, let me know. I enjoyed the experience.
