End of HHJ Obsession/ Devotion

I've considered so many other areas of my life that could use this devotion. This is my goal deadline. I will have to purge all of my unused products and devote my time an energy to the betterment of another area of my life. MBL is my ultimate goal, but I have no idea where my hair will be come December 31, 2013. That will be five years of being hair obsessed.

My Experience:
At first I was a little apprehensive about this leave in. Clearly it is and at first glance you notice it is a protein product mainly because of its restorative claims and ingredients. The whole Motions CPR line is mainly protein-laden products. Well so far, my hair really likes the CPR line. The regular Motions line for some reason would leave build up on my scalp and leave it itchy and nasty.Any how a member of one of the hair boards I frequent was selling this so I figured I'd give it a try. Well as a leave in, it sucked. Not a total loss for me because my hair doesn't really like cream leave ins. The best use for a cream leave in for my hair is as a moisturizer so that is exactly how I used it. I moisturize my hair nightly with this product and sealed with oils. It really made a difference in the strength of my hair and was surprisingly moisturizing. My hair liked this combo even though it is supposedly a protein product. This is a great example of why I am not super crazy about ingredients because my hair, apparently isn't very picky about ingredients.

It looks like you use a lot of the Black hair care brands we find at the Black-owned shops around the corner. Do you find that the ingredients they use affect your hair at all? I know plenty of them contain ingredients that make my hair feel dirty, sticky, or hard as hell. I don't have relaxed hair, so I'm wondering if you can use the "bad" products like mineral oil and sulfates without getting relaxed hair all gross, like they do to my hair?

Thanks for checking out post, Chrissystina. Actually, I use a fair mixture. Alot of my staples are actually products that you find in caucasion salons, upscale beauty supply stores, or sally's brands. I do have a few BSS staples, but they are exceptional. I'll pay extra for better quality products. Yes, I have found that alot of BSS brands leave my hair weighed down, stiff, filthy, stinky and make my scalp itch. I've learned to choose them wisely. Check out my staples category. I have a fair mixture.
