End of HHJ Obsession/ Devotion

I've considered so many other areas of my life that could use this devotion. This is my goal deadline. I will have to purge all of my unused products and devote my time an energy to the betterment of another area of my life. MBL is my ultimate goal, but I have no idea where my hair will be come December 31, 2013. That will be five years of being hair obsessed.

Flexi Rod Attempt

To summarize.....not for me.
I'm currently 2wks post.
I shampooed with Chi DB Balance Shampoo.
DC'd with NTM Daily Dc mixed with CHI DB RECONSTRUCTOR and Castor oil for 15 minutes with heating cap.
Applied Aphogee Green Tea leave in spray and Salerm 21.
I used plain water and diluted Lottabody setting lotion.
It took me about 45 minutes to place rollers. I watched several tutorials.
I sat under the dryer for approx. 20 minutes and I could tell ends/ curls were frizzing up. I took out several rollers. There was on about 5 rods that were still damp so I put rods back in and sat under the dryer. All in all, I was under the dryer about an hour, maybe less. The first time I took out the rods I was surprised that most of my hair was dry. This little tabletop is alright by me.

I wouldn't say its a complete fail because I can work with these curls. Um, for me, my Cf's work just the same with less work. I could hear my hair "Snap, crackle and pop" even though I tried to unravel them gently. I was so distraught by all of the broken strands on the rods. I don't loose any hair with my Cf's. I couldn't figure out how to tighten them. I will purchase the long and narrow Cf's to imitate the Flexi rod/ straw sets that I like. I've satisfied my curiosity. Farewell to flexi rods.

Pics:
Forgive me, I have been up all day. I am so tired. I started my hair around 7:30p right after a 3-mile walk so I am exhausted. Off to bed from here.

P.S. This is not my first or second try with flexi rods. I have really tried to figure these out. I'm over it.I will keep the larger purple ones for wavy looks on dry hair. I have been seeing those types of looks floating around the blogosphere recently.

The curls look fine but I completely understand your frustration. So glad you shared this bc I personally feel the same way about CF - the process is so much longer for me and I kept hearing and seeing my hair break. Just goes to show that not everything is for everybody. At least the end result was good so it wasn't a complete wash!

Yeah, I really wanted to like these because every one gets such beautiful curls. I was frustrated while putting them in but it was too late to stop because of all the time I invested.

I like the curls! At least you gave them another chance and now you know you like CFs better. Have a wonderful day :-)!

Thanks, Blessed Tresses. I'm so over flexi rods. I haven't felt like this on my hhj in awhile. I hope my ends haven't broken too bad.

You got so much further with the flexirod set than I did. I think you did a pretty good job.

However, I feel you on the flexirods. I'm about to take back the last two packs I purchased. Too bad I can't find the packaging or receipts for the older ones. I just put in my order for the long and narrow curlformers. I just hope I ordered enough. I fear I'll need more of them than I do of the long and wide.

Thanks. Your cf sets come out so lovely. Can't wait to see the results of the narrow cfs. How many packs did you buy? Not sure how many I'll need considering I use all of the wide cfs.
